My Year

So here we go my first ever blog! For a man that can talk the arse off of a Donkey its surprises me somewhat that i haven't done this sooner, this could work out to be the worst 20 or so lines you've ever read or it could work, either way I feel the need to write my year and get it all off my chest!

The Working Months

I found myself leaving my carpet fitting job just prior to 2010 due to a lack of support from my employers and a few personal difficulties that thrust themselves upon me, 2010 not the start i expected but I kept trying and kept my head down and my options open and managed to get in with a family run building firm, one of the nicest guys I could have ever have wanted to work for a true working class hero who had all the time in the world for his employees (not many people like that around anymore)

Things where going well I was learning all kinds of things working alongside other trades to the point where I found I could start doing alot of things without needing to be supervised, a great personal achievement in my eyes little did I know that my career would be cut short so quickly.

After 6 months hard graft my back decided to give way and I found myself basically layed out on a sofa for the next 5 months with anything more than gentle exercise leaving me in agony. The dream job and boss now just a distant memory a true shame!

New Friends

I have used the extra time on my hands to strike up alot of new friendships on Twitter, the site that I joined and mocked for being rubbish, turns out it just needed a bit of input and effort from me (patience never my strong point) New friends who are always there for me and have helped me out this year some in person and some just by being there, listening and interacting with me. I genuinely believe i wouldn't feel half as positive about things if I didn't have you guys in my life and for that I am eternally grateful! THANK YOU and heres to the future.

The Misses

This is the girl who has given me two beautiful children and unfortunately had to share the rollercoaster ride from top to bottom, my everything! Early in march she treated me to a trip to Paris a well needed city break for both of us, I found this the ultimate opportunity to drop down on one knee and ask the BIG question, she had me on one knee in front of her and the stunning view of the Eiffel tower for a back drop. She didn't hesitate and answered with "yes" The birth of my children and this moment are the happiest moments of my life so far. I owe Claire everything she has always supported me and stood firmly by my side with everything life has thrown at us. I can never begin to explain the love I have for this girl she rocks my world.

Old Friends

Its sad that when you have children alot of your usual mates suddenly stop taking an interest in you! I've seen a fair amount of my old buddies fall by the wayside and have even had to cut ties with a few (supposed) best mates the people you don't ever expect not to be in your life.

Onwards and upwards I still have some very close friends in my life these guys always have time for me and vice versa. Tonight in the spirit of New Years Eve I shall be raising a glass to each and every one of you god bless you all and I look forward to the life experiences we have to come.

The Rest

Well if you're still reading at this point all I can think is bloody hell you're either very bored or very patient! The end of this year has been very upbeat and social, I have had opportunities to go to a few gigs and thanks to new friends go and watch my team play the MIGHTY QPR. All these years of football fans taking the piss out of you for supporting a supposed "small club in London" seem to have disappeared Loftus road is buzzing with excitement, the board have finally appointed the right man to take the club forward and currently the team sit 7 points clear at the top of the Championship happy times indeed, the boards past embarrassments seem now a distant memory.

I wish you all a very happy new year and once again send love and thanks to the people who have made a difference this year I truly couldn't have done it without you.
